The Photos:
6:22PM, Wednesday, March 15: I spend a lot of time at therapy staring at my feet. My feet and the carpet. One would think that I would have gained all of the insight I am going to gain by contemplating my own feet by now.
7:06PM, Thursday, March 16: Snuggling after a tough day at the hospital. We are all trying to adjust to the NG tube. Especially Z.
7:49PM, Friday, March 17: The mall againwhat can I say? E. loves it, and it is the end of winter. I mean, winter is ending soon, right? RIGHT? E. is riding the train and we are waving to him.
7:02PM, Saturday, March 18: Playing legos. E. insisted on taking the photo tonight. My budding photographer.
7:38PM, Sunday, March 19: The laptop, another appendage?
7:32PM, Monday, March 20: Did I mention that it turned cold again and we are stuck in the house? And no one is happy about it? Gah. I could poke out my eye rather than spend another afternoon in the living room.
6:57PM, Tuesday, March 21: Finally getting my hair cut. I always wait too long, and then I talk myself out of it and wait longer, and then the timing is bad and I wait longer still. This time my hair was awful and then I decided to wait until we were leaving for our trip. Better tonight. But sadly not pink.
Meaning:
I am longing for summer. Or spring. Or warm weather. Something. I look at these photos and the house begins to close in on me and I feel claustrophobic. Too much time in the house. But what to do about it? Go to the mall or Target yet again? April 6 cannot come quickly enough. More light, more time outside, more air to breathe.
I LOVE all of these. And I totally adore those of Z and you. LOVE, love, love them...as usual.
Posted by: Shelba at March 21, 2006 10:57 PMTo me a casual observer and blog reader it looks like Z is a lot more responsive to you then when she first came home. Her body language in the first pic shows how she is seeking comfort from you and the other pictures also show her being reponsive and interacting with you and the rest of your family and that is a really great thing. I hope this is the case!
Posted by: jess at March 21, 2006 11:03 PMI finally realized what movie star you look like. It has been teasing the edge of my brain for weeks, but would always slip away. You are so the real-life Greta Sachti, or Stachi or whatever her name is. You know, the woman who leads Harrison Ford astray in "Presumed Innocent". Takeaway? You're gorgeous lady, indeed you are.
Oh, I too have the winter blahs in a bad way. The worst thing was we were given a taste of Spring recently and I'm craving it baaaaadddddddddddddddd! If you have any suggestions, please post!
Posted by: Katie J at March 22, 2006 3:33 AMOh, the winter blahs. I am so tired of all of this snow. So I probably just missed this, but what do you have planned for your upcoming trip? I hope it will be warm and fun.
Great pictures, and I love that your kids let you actually do something on your laptop. That's very fortunate, you know. I have to wait for naps or endure a tantrum.
Posted by: Heather at March 22, 2006 8:43 AMI wake up every morning and see the gray sky outside and think of the long day ahead stuck in the (messy) house and just want to stay in bed.
Spring is coming, spring is coming, spring is coming. It's a mantra those of us who live in the north start chanting every year about March 1.
E and Z are so cute (and an NG tube can't change that). I bet they're looking forward to spring too!
Posted by: Bethany at March 22, 2006 9:27 AMP.S. Talk about wanting to poke your eye out? Try playing "hide and seek with no surprises." S. leads me to her hiding spot, shows me where she's hiding, then I have to go back and count and pretend I can't find her. Over and over again. Gah.
Posted by: Bethany at March 22, 2006 9:55 AMHey! Happy Birthday you!
Posted by: Jo at March 23, 2006 9:41 AMis there any insight to be gained by staring at other people's feet?
